About SafeSpaceBTB
SafeSpaceBTB truly believes that through education with arts and 'artvocacy' we can all get the rights that we inherently acquire as human beings when we are just born. We believe that humans will respect us if they know and care. And self-empowerment comes from within and not from society, so it's necessary for us, the Khmer community to be the leaders of our own fights and our own lives. Although one can't rise and shine alone, the community needs to grow together.
SafeSpaceBTB is historically the first and only LGBTQIA+ informal organization in Battambang and, is committed to educating, supporting, and creating a space for self-empowerment for Battambang's LGBTQIA+ community and other intersections and the most vulnerable, like youth, women & girls, Indigenous people, people with disabilities, etc. through art and advocacy.
SafeSpaceBTB's objectives are to support Human Rights in Battambang, and Cambodia, bring more opportunities for youth and the general community from Battambang, and generate more resources in Khmer, with Khmer context for Human Rights for free in social media, together, with other institutions and parts of the society, collaborate and create a better society for everyone, for social justice.

Our Resources
We collected and organized a bank of resources for individuals, organizations, educators, educational institutions, other LGBTQIA+ or Human Rights organizations, etc. that want to get resources to understand more Khmer society, Khmer arts, Khmer context, Human Rights Education & stories from diverse people in Battambang and Cambodia. Most of them are in Khmer with English subtitles.
